Dear Long Buckby Residents
It is with great sadness that the Buckby Feast Planning Committee have decided not to run Feast Day this year. So there will be NO FEAST DAY on August Bank Holiday Monday. It will return in 2022 as in 2021 it will be Winwick Fete & we don’t wish to clash with that.
At present there will be no Produce & Craft Show however please keep growing, sowing & making stuff as we possibly have another 10 weeks of not really knowing what is happeneing so you all need to find things to do!!! Especially all the children that are off school we need you to make stuff!!! The schedules will be around the village, on the Feast website or Facebook so you can download them to know what the classes are.
Depending how the Corona virus situation progresses we may hold the Produce & Craft Show at the Community Centre but if this is not possible then we want to have a virtual C&P show on Facebook. There will be no entry fee or prizes but a sharing of the creativity that Buckby has.
We are also hoping to have a Scarecrow week but again there won’t be an entry fee but it will be something for people to do & for others to look at when they are walking around the village. This is, of course, dependant on whether we are not we are still allowed to exercise once a day. So watch this space, the Feast website or the Feast facebook page for further info in due course.
We do still have some cash available to give out as grants to non-profit making organisations in the village but as we won’t be raising any money this year when it’s gone it’s gone!! If you would like to apply please send your application c/o 4 High Street Long Buckby stating who you are, what you need help with, how much you want & enclose a copy of your latest accounts.
The Feast Committee are looking for a volunteer who would be prepared to deal with the social media aspect of The Feast posting on Facebook & anywhere else you can post. If you think you can help please contact Hilary on 07844 683 816. Thank you.
Stay safe Buckby, Feast week will be back to full force in 2021 & Feast Day in 2020
Here is a reminder of the 2018 Feast Day…
This year we will not be throwing sponges at Nathan!
The Feast committee is a group of volunteers who organise the events for the benefit of all the village. The committee we will welcome suggestions and offers to help plan and run the Feast. In the first instance please contact Hilary Tibbs (email@example.com), Mary McElroy (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Janey Shemilt (email@example.com) and we will take it from there… many thanks in advance.
