2017 Scarecrow Trail

In 2017 we did not hold the Open Gardens event (splendidly organised in 2016 by Susie and William Mitchell), but we did be run the Scarecrow Trail (mainly for families) and also a Scarecrow Competition (for organisations and businesses).

Scarecrow Trail

This year’s Trail took place on Sunday 20th August on the theme of BOOKS!
This year we had over 20 scarecrows set up around the village, and hundreds of people came out to enjoy them.

The winners this year were the Davis family with their Harry Potter themed scarecrow, and Dobbie and Anne Warboys with their Beatrix potter themed scarecrow.

Congratulations to all who entered.

Scarecrow Competition

This year’s competition took place as part of the Produce and Craft Show on the 26th August and was open to local organisations, groups and businesses.
Scarecrows were on the theme of books, and also reflected the businesses and organisations.

The winners of this year’s Scarecrow competition was Dodo Computing with a theme of the history of books from hieroglyphics through to e-books.

Congratulations to all who entered.

Many thanks to William and Susie Mitchell for organising these super events. The Scarecrow Trail raised £150.00 for the Feast funds.
