2018 Scarecrows and Gardens

Again this year we will be running the Scarecrow Trail and Open Gardens… on Sunday afternoon, 19th August 2018.

As last year, we will run the Scarecrow Trail (mainly for families) and the Scarecrow Competition (for organisations and businesses).

The closing date for entries is 10th August… get your skates on!.

Scarecrow Trail

The Scarecrow Trail will take place on Sunday 19th August – and this year there will be no set theme… so get your creative hats on!

Entry for the Scarecrow Trail is now closed, and we are pleased that there will 21 scarecrows to visit on Sunday 19th. Maps showing the locations of the scarecrows are on sale at the Peephole for £1, and will also be available on Sunday at the Market Square.

We are hoping that the scarecrows from the Scarecrow Trail will remain displayed until the day of the Feast, on Monday 27th August.

Scarecrow Competition

The scarecrows from the Scarecrow Competition (businesses and organisations) will be on show at the Produce and Craft Show, which will be held on Saturday 25th August.

Open Gardens

Also on Sunday 19th August we will be having Open Gardens again. We are grateful to the Gardening Club who have agreed to run this event. Gardens throughout the village will be open to view between 12:30pm and 5:30pm, the charge is £4 per person.

There will be a shuttle bus to transport around the village. If you would like to open your garden – or you would like more information – please contact Maria Summerscale on maria.summerscale04@gmail.com for details.

Refreshments

Refreshments will be available at the Baptist Church on the square from 1:00pm. We are also hoping that refreshments will be available at some of the properties during the Scarecrow Trail and the Open Gardens.
